GODHATE Parts Ways With Drummer, Announces Replacement
March 24, 2009Reactivated Swedish death metallers GODHATE (formerly THRONEAEON) have parted ways with drummer Mike Geerberg and have replaced him with Simon Granath. The band says, "Simon was a part of the Swedish tour and has proven to be the best drummer GODHATE has ever had."
Regarding Mike's departure, the group writes on its MySpace page, "From the moment when Mike began in GODHATE, in spring 2007, until today he has made a great progress in playing drums. Still, after 18 month's of intense training, he couldn't deliver our songs neither on album nor live, and in the end he told us he no longer had the same ambition as the others. Work, friends, party and slalom was big parts in his life and all this together this didn't fit perfect with the schedule. I'm sure Mik had the will to in the beginning... I mean, he has spent several hours in the rehearsal room beating up his drumkit, and this must have been for a cause. In fall 2008 we all came to the conclusion that Mike had to be replaced. We have had really great times that none of the 2008 lineup will forget, and we wish Mike all the luck in finding a new band that will fit his capacity."
GODHATE recently uploaded music from its forthcoming album to the band's MySpace page. The song "Godhate" and a sample featuring parts of different songs (all from the upcoming CD) are available for streaming at this location.
The new GODHATE album was engineered by Dino Medanhodzic (CARNAL FORGE guitarist) at Elastic studio.
The band is currently seeking a suitable label to release the effort.
